My Precious Coco

Chantal van der Meijden soars through life as free as a "galactic bird." Never to be pinned down, she flits between Holland and NYC, between graphic design, styling and trend forecasting, and certainly between outfits. Meet Chantal! Coco Rosa, Chantal's fashion diary, details her daily adventures. Galactic birds have quite busy lives! She will divulge DIY secrets (tights below!), share her outfit for the day, clue you in to super cool gadgets (the girl loves robots) and even teach you how to use Photoshop. She's tried her hand at all of the coolest jobs in fashion - she's been a creative director, stylist, graphic AND fashion designer and even worked in trend forecasting, one of the most difficult nooks of the industry to enter. No. Chantal said Pythagoras. Because of his contributions to philosophy, of course! It's best if we all just admit it now. Yes, Chantal is cooler than me and you. [caption id="attachment_4829" align="aligncenter" width="681" caption="Pythagoras: Ionian Greek philosopher, highly influential mathematician, and Chantal's dinner date"][/caption] Her style is highly reflective of her travelling - having spent some time living in NYC's grit after growing up in lush & lovely Holland, she expertly juxtaposes edgy city grunge with dainty picturesque countryside. [caption id="attachment_4824" align="aligncenter" width="522" caption="chunky black layers with a delicate white lace belt"][/caption] [caption id="attachment_4825" align="aligncenter" width="600" caption="pretty in pink on top, look at me I'm Sandra D (at the END of Grease) on the bottom"][/caption] [caption id="attachment_4826" align="aligncenter" width="600" caption="some 1960's fringe and mod white tights, Victorian lace and a peacoat. only Coco."][/caption] Her graphic design training and keen photographic eye keep her blog posts looking beautiful. She always finds the most gorgeous ad campaigns and obviously the composition of her outfit posts is perfection. Personally though, my favorite part about her blog? The lists. I live for a good, meticulously edited list. So let's make a list of some of her lists: Blogger Poses, Blogger Pets, Blogger Boyfriends, Blogger Tattoos and, most recently, 7 Things I Want.
