Jacquemus is a young Parisian label -- a title that is rarely held in France's world of stiff hierarchy and century old couture. At only 21, Simon Porte, the designer behind the line, has released something truly remarkable. Something incredibly French, a bit austere and entirely wearable. The AW11 Jacquemus lookbook entitled L'Usine tells the story of a lonely woman who has abandoned the concept of love. The clothing she wears is overly simplistic -- the line features only five styles in five somber shades. It is intentionally matronly and the boiled wool pieces are intended for comfort. The lookbook is accompanied by a short film by Bertrand le Pluard, both are below. There is something about these images that leaves you guessing and wanting more -- looks like there's something to be said about the stark reality of everyday life after all.
