Summer 2012 is all about being pretty in PINK! Pink is making a comeback like no other this season, and with the resurgence of monochromatic looks we're seeing more of it than ever before! We had a feeling it was coming so we made sure to include some pink accents in our Spring/Summer '12 collection LIVE FREE RIDE HARD. We featured a gorgeous coral hue in the weaving section of the above style named Dolores -- the mix of coral and orange really hit the nail on the head in terms of colors for the season. With the inclusion of the stacked wooden heel, the look is super soft and can almost act as a neutral if worn right. We also went for a pink-y pop with our Adelina t-strap pump, combining a reddish pink body with a small woven section of a lighter pink. Adelina is a showstopper; a serious statement shoe that adds some va-va-voom to any footwear collection. Both styles are perfect to wear with summer slip dresses, printed maxis and with a good cuffed short. If fashion is saying anything this season it's: DON'T BE AFRAID OF COLOR! Designers have been all over the pink theme from runway to ready to wear, and some of the most fun applications of the color have been in the accessories department. Marc by Marc Jacobs released a fantastic color blocked handbag -- pink and orange (it's inescapable!) with gold hardware and a good long shoulder strap, this bag is so ideal for sprucing up a basic look. Jimmy Choo also produced a pink bag, but went for the trendy envelope clutch. Choo used a super shiny bright pink patent with a gold accent. Not for the faint of heart! We love the dainty floral drop earrings that Oscar de la Renta has out right now, flowers formed from little stones of varying pink, white and gold color they are very feminine while still being modern. Aka, not for your grandmother. Isabel Marant, the reigning queen of the season with those hidden wedge sneaks, knows more than just shoes! The quirky little bracelets they're selling feature brassy linked hardware with muted pink woven ribbons and her signature silk tassel. Starting with Nanette Lepore, who hit three major trends in one look with this neon pink get up. The top touches on the athletic looks that have been so popular, the print is an abstract floral and then of course the overall color is a serious pink. Jason Wu used the hue in two very different ways in his Spring collection -- he went softer with a muted pastel and then bold with a striking, shiny baby pink. The slight v and soft train of the first look go perfectly with the color, and the texture lends dimension. The second look embodies Power Bitch at its prime with this structured baby pink skirt. And the final look that we just had to include comes from Thakoon -- we never thought a light pink could look so hardcore. A pink body is accented with black patent polka dots, hem and collar, and the whole look is segmented by a complex Paisley pattern in the middle. Pink is so versatile, and designers went all out to make sure we saw it in every which way.
