Red shoes are iconic, because we all know if you just click your heels together three times and say "THERE'S NO PLACE LIKE HOME, THERE'S NO PLACE LIKE HOME..." that everything will be ok. All the way from Dorothy's ruby red slippers in 1939 to today with our velvet Nita (available now at on pre-order by the way!) red shoes have been working as serious showstoppers. We used a veritable spectrum of the shade in our Autumn/Winter collection ELECTRIC WITCHES ranging from blood red velvet to brighter suedes, you'll find pops of our seemingly new favorite color all over the online shop later this month! Here's a little preview of some of our favorites... The pendulum tends to swing back and forth from cool colors to warm, and this Fall it's all about menswear inspired androgynous looks slathered in warm neutrals (camel, camel everywhere!) and strong prints. We've wandered into the archives over at Style Sight to pull images that pull at our bright red heartstrings, and found pieces ranging from Galliano's 2006 runway to wayback vintage gems to Vivienne Westwood's AW12 Red Label show. Color trending is one of our favorite activities, it gives you the chance to really delve into the lifestyle aspects of fashion -- it goes beyond clothing and accessories to show how color is utilized in everything around us. And recently we've really been having an organic, biological moment -- drawing inspiration from minerals, crystals, irregular textures, and all these other facets of nature and the inner workings of our bodies. If you like the varied inspo included here you should absolutely check out the Pin-spiration board that Laura put together for our Spring/Summer 2013 collection ELECTROMANCER, as it beautifully represents the range of images and ideas that drive the Miista design process.
